District 7330 Newsletter Special Edition

My Fellow Rotarians:
Last night, I received official word from Rotary International that the proposed merger of Districts 7330 and 7300 will become effective on 1 July 2019.
Specifically, the letter from Deanna Cankar, Manager, Club and District Support, Americas, and Staff Liaison, Districting Committee shared the following decision by the RI Board:
 D-3. Districting Committee Report
            DECISION:  The Board
3.  reconfirms its decision 69, September 2016 to merge District 7330 with adjacent  District 7300 (Pennsylvania, USA) into District 7305 effective 1 July 2019;
The letter also stated that this decision had not been made lightly and that the Board “recognizes that this change will require extra effort by district leadership to establish new policies, bylaws, and events while determining what traditions to keep from the former districts.”
In the near term, I will be forming a new transition committee to work on these issues and any others that may arise. Rotary International will also be working with us to make the merger successful.  Your input is certainly welcome and I ask each of you for your continued support.  As we move forward, one of my primary goals will be to keep you informed on our progress.
Thank you for your dedication to Rotary.
