Over the past few years the Portage Club has held a very successful Golf-A-Rama, which is a 'reverse-order' drawing event. We hold the event at a local banquet hall on the weekend between the NFL Conference Championships and the Super Bowl. Admission is $20 per person and includes a buffet style meal (Ham & Chicken, Potatoes, Vegetables, Rolls), beer and soda, mixers for BYOB and desserts, which is usually 3-5 dozen cookies from each member. We have 15 prizes listed on the back of the ticket and include clubs, sets of clubs, lessons from the local golf pro, golf getaway weekend, etc. Also given out periodically throughout the evening are prizes donated by local merchants (with a gol/sporting goods tie-in). We raffle off other major items (about 3-5) that are not included on the ticket, and also hustle pop-opens throughout the evening. All in all it's a fun event for sports fans and the evening culminates with the drawing of the grand prize, usually a set of clubs.
