ROTARY WORLD PEACE ART CONTEST 2010

Project:                          To promote Rotary's work for world peace, several Rotary Districts are hosting the second Rotary World Peace Art Contest.

Theme:                          World Peace.

Participants:                 Middle School Students (6th, 7th and 8th grades).

Judging:                        Club Level judging will be conducted by your local Rotary Club. All 1st Place winners from the Club Level will then move on to a District Level.

Participants at the District Level will be judged by a committee of Rotarians and local artists. Three entries will be selected and awarded additional cash prizes. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners from the District Level will then move on to the final round at the Multi-District Level.

At the Multi-District Level, six Grand Prize Winners will be selected to have their renditions of World Peace used for a set of occasional cards. These cards will be sold by all participating Rotary Districts in support of the Rotary Centers for International Studies in Peace and Conflict Resolution.

Club Level Prizes:        1st - $50          2nd - $ 30         3rd - $20

District Level Prizes:    1st - $400        2nd - $200        3rd - $100

Entry Specifics:            Entries must be original and submitted on white 8½ x 11 paper, poster board or canvas. Students may use pencils, crayons, markers, watercolor, acrylic etc. No computer generated images will be accepted. Only one entry per student!

Please write in ink, the participant's full name and school name on the back of all art work entries. Paperclip entry forms to art work. Do not staple!

Deadline:                       All art work accompanied by completed entry forms must be received by your local Rotary Club by March 1st, 2010.
